Award winning scheme to convert 19th century brewery warehousing to Leeds headquarters for Arup Engineering.
Adjacent to New Dock on the fringe of the city centre, The Small Mill is a self-contained office building with a unique aesthetic.
Using existing 19th Century building stock the scheme was originally implemented to provide Arup engineers with a bespoke Leeds office.
Award-winning design features include the re-use of 3 storey high metal grain silos integrated into the structure to provide meeting rooms and management offices.
In 2017 we completed a new project adjacent to the Small Mill, to extend the overall property by more than 70% for our current tenants. Designed by Garnett Netherwood Architects, the extension is a steel framed, brick construction over 3 floors. The design successfully harmonises with the original building, but brings a modern aesthetic to the site with crisp edges, clean curves and modelled brick facades.
